Special BOE Hearing... |
|
The Region 14 BOE has failed to submit a detailed reconfiguration plan to the public for review and assessment. Furthermore, the regularly scheduled board meetings do not allow for any meaningful public exchange of information. As such, Families for Region 14 has worked tirelessly to obtain information and provide it to the community. The culmination of this effort was the rally held at the Bethlehem Green on December 16th. We collected nearly 200 signatures and were able to force a special Board of Education hearing as mandated by the BOE bylaws. This hearing was scheduled and held on Monday January 8th 2007 at 6:30PM in the Nonnewaug High School Auditorium. Some 150 in attendance were given the opportunity to question the Board and Superintendent on the proposed plan. We will be adding comments and questions from the meeting as they become available. Please check back regularly for updates. WE NOW HAVE A COMPLETE TRANSCRIPT OF THE HEARING AVAILABLE ON THIS PAGE, PLEASE SEE LINK BELOW —Families for Region 14 |

Question from Region 14 parent Denise Kolitsas - “I have transparencies of the current floor plans, would you please point out what changes will be made to each school?”
Dr. Cronin refused to go over the floor plans at the hearing and wanted to make an appointment to meet with Denise on this at a later date. He also offered to post the floor plans on the ctreg14 website. Since they have only provided the proposed floor plans under the reconfiguration plan on their website, we are supplying both the current and proposed floor plans here for comparison.
